Currently seeking 10 corrections officers with CLEAN nationwide background checks, ability to pass a drug screen, and desire to want to work in a psych based environment.
The Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center is a state Forensic Hospital which is under the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. (We are not part of Department of Corrections). KCPC is licensed as a state hospital. This facility houses Individuals that have been charged with a felony crime and at the request of Judges and attorneys from any county jail in the state for psychiatric evaluation.
KCPC has a team of Doctors, Psychiatrist, Psychologists, and social workers who will evaluate the patients to see if they are competent to stand trial. Once patients have been evaluated for a minimum of of 30 days not to extend 90 days, they are returned to county jails with the report and the court decide what happens from there.
As a correctional officer in this setting, the job requires that the patients that are in the custody of KCPC do not escape. Correctional officers provide a safe and therapeutic environment while maintaining custody. KCPC is a 24/7 day a week operations, with 3 shift schedules and mandatory overtime which may be required after initial training period.
Must have a High School Diploma or GED and be 21 years of age at time of hire
Previous military experience is encouraged to apply.
CPR training, PPD, and uniforms will be provided. Along with detailed on the job training.
Orientation and Training will consist of Monday-Friday 6:45am - 3:00pm. 37.50 hours guaranteed.
Pay rate is $14.00 day shift, $14.60 2nd and 3rd shift. Plus an additional $1 per hour for Saturday and Sundays worked
